    Director | Senior Designer


    After Graduating from Massey University School of Design in 1999 with a Bachelor of Industrial Design Gareth worked at Fisher & Paykel with Mechanical Engineers, Production Managers and Designers working as a team to get innovative and design lead projects out into the marketplace.

    In 2001 he joined the Formworks design team and has since worked on a variety of products including automotive, aeronautical, packaging, consumer, conceptual, and industrial projects.

    Gareth is passionate about the projects that he works on, and the way with which design can improve upon not only the style and functionality of a product but also the way with which they can evoke both emotive and physical reactions from users.

    In 2011 Gareth, along with Jamie, took over as joint owner and Director of Formworks.

    Jamie graduated with an honours degree in Industrial Design from Massey University Wellington School of Design.

    His professional career began at Tait Radio Communication in 1999. Initially working on a research project identifying styling factors and then as their in-house industrial designer, a role that enabled him to build on the theoretical knowledge he had learnt at university. Jamie was responsible for designing Tait’s mobile, portable and base station product ranges.

    In 2004 Jamie moved to Auckland to join the Formworks design team. His work at Formworks has included a wide range of projects, from airline seating, motor-homes, consumer electronics, food packaging, medical, industrial, point of sale products and more.

    In 2011 Jamie, along with Gareth, took over as joint owner and a Director of Formworks.

    Designer


    Graduating from Massey University School of Design in 2008, Alistair achieved highly receiving first class honours in his Bachelor of Design degree. He continued on to complete a Master of Design post graduate degree graduating in 2010. Alistair received a Distinction for his ‘Ryde NZ’ project. This industrial design major project provided him with an understanding and appreciation of large-scale product design throughout a wide range of consumer products including transportation, appliance and furniture design.

    Shortly after finishing his Masters degree Alistair began working as an Industrial Designer at Formworks Design, his work being largely focused on the conceptual and styling stage of projects.

    Designer


    Emma joined the Formworks design team as an Industrial Designer in 2011. She has a keen interest in the relationship between products and consumers.

    Emma studied at Victoria University of Wellington, graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Industrial Design (Hons). While living in Melbourne in 2010 she completed an internship with design company, Joneschijoff. This experience allowed Emma to build on and cement her conceptual and practical design knowledge.

    At Formworks Emma’s role is predominantly based on conceptual brainstorming and styling of a wide range of products.
