The objective of this project was to transform the navman iCN range from a technical product to a consumer brand through well designed packaging.
Working together with Dow Design we created a packaging solution that gave a sense of order to the myriad of components that make up the iCN 550 product family. The inner packaging was partitioned into three modules; the main unit, the in-car devices and the accessories to stay at home. These were identified with simple icons. In applying this narrative to the unpacking of the product, the technology was made less daunting, more accessible. The graphics on the packaging tells the story of navman taking you places – the product is shown travelling along a dynamic/ symbolic streetscape.
